The charity WE Dig Trees has donated nearly 100 tree "whips" of a variety of native trees as part of a nationwide campaign to plant millions of trees, creating biodiverse pocket forests across the UK. These are all hedgerow and pollinator friendly and include crab apple, blackthorn (sloes), rowan, dog rose, alder, hawthorn, hazel and elder. The trees are slowly being planted around the site and a good number are already growing around the new green waste area in the middle of the allotments.
